AAAF is developing programs to assist with financial and emotional issues when dealing with all forms of Alopecia Areata. AAAF maintains a central focus on awareness programs.

In 2011 AAAF established the donate hair program.

In 2012 AAAF established the Wig for Kids Program to ensure that children wanting to wear a wig get the information, service and support needed.
